Description
“A sturdy red, it is fabulously ripe on the nose showing black/blueberry, floral, cocoa and nutmeg characters with a subtle infusion of dried herbs. The palate is ripe and nicely weighted with excellent fruit intensity and smooth texture, well supported by fine tannins. At its best: now to 2019.” Sam Kim Wine Orbit, April 2016
“Dark, deep, purple-hued ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is reserved and tightly bound with light and soft aromas of blackcurrants and cassis entwined with dark herbs and stalk elements. The aromatics unfold some reductive mineral and black earth elements to add interest. Medium-bodied and well-proportioned, the plate features a tight core of sweet blackcurrant fruit along with cassis, minty herbs and black mineral nuances. The fruit is underlined by fine-grained, supple tannins and the wine carries to a lingering finish of cassis and herbs. This is an elegantly concentrated, fine-grained, blackcurranty Cabernet Sauvignon with herb and mineral notes. Match with herb-marinated lamb and beef dishes over the next 3+ years. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Central Valley fermented to 13.5% alc., with 20%of the on aged 8 months in French oak” Raymond Chan, Apr 2016
According to legend, 120 patriots, exhausted after a long, hard battle during the fight for Chile’s independence, reached the land belonging to Santa Rita. On that fateful night in 1814, these forces of liberty found refuge in the estate cellars. Today, within these same cellars, our award-winning 120 wines are crafted to honour their heroic character.
120 Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep and intense violet-red in colour. Notes of red and black fruits predominate on the nose with the touch of spice that is typical in Cabernet, plus the aromas of vanilla, cloves, and tobacco that come from the oak. Sweet, elegant, and smooth tannins lend depth to the well-rounded palate and lead to a fresh, fruity, and juicy finish.
