Description
Bénédictine is a truly extraordinary elixir, made from a secret recipe that is said to date back to 1510, originating with the benedictine monks of the Abbey of Fécamp, in Normandy, France. Produced using a unique blend of 27 herbs and spices, the crafting still takes place at Le Palais Bénédictine which also serves as a museum and art gallery. The careful and complex production process uses precious, original copper pot stills, large oak barrels for ageing, followed by blending the batches with honey and saffron, and ageing again. Bénédictine is ideal as a digestif and for cocktails such as a Singapore Sling, Vieux Carré or with sparkling wine and a lemon twist in the D.O.M. Cocktail; it’s also delicious served with hot water. An excellent gift for those who appreciate the finer things, if you’re looking for Fathers Day gifts, special occasion presents or a classic for a get-together, Bénédictine is a winning choice. Nose: Pronounced and complex nose offering a wealth of spice and fruit aromas. Cloves, cardamorn and liquorice mingle with honey, butterscotch, prune and orange. Palate: Pungent herbal and spicy flavours mingle with a pleasing balanced sweetness. Finish: Smooth finish. |
