  • PARKER (89)
  • Tasted at the vertical held at the château, the 2011 Château Siran, a blend of 52% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc, has an open, quite generous, earthy and leather-scented bouquet that permeates through the red berry fruit that feels a little smudged against the 2010 Siran. The palate is medium-bodied with quite fine tannin on the entry and tangible mineralité. This is an appealing Margaux that punches just above my expectations and its persistence on the finish suggests that it has the substance to age. This is worth looking out for.
  • WINESPECTATOR / JAMES SUCKLING (89)
  • Offers a sinewy feel, with red currant, bergamot and singed balsa wood notes that thread together through the elegant finish.
