Description
A well-structured Pomerol red wine
The Château Franc-Maillet is an estate located in Pomerol. The area of the vineyard is a little more than 5 hectares with the grape varieties consisting of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.
At tasting, the Château Franc Maillet 1999 offers a magnificent dark ruby colour with violet hues. On the nose, we can smell berry, plum, black cherry and gooseberry aromas. On the palate, the wine appears medium-bodied and of good structure. The tannins are present on the palate, which is unique for a wine from this vintage. Best to consume right now.
