Description
- PHILOSOPHYA contemporary Pinot Noir that brings together all the qualities of elegance and subtlety of this variety in Burgundy, at a reasonable price. A cuvée that combines balance, freshness and fruit through which we affirm our mastery in terms of winemaking, blending and knowledge of Burgundy terroirs.
- TERROIRMore than 80% of the grapes for this cuvée come from Côtes de Beaune and Côtes de Nuits. It is complemented by wines from Couchois (North-West of the Côte Chalonnaise), sought after for their freshness. The final blend also includes a complement of Pinot Noir from Beaujolais which brings color and fruit.
- VINIFICATION AND AGINGThe harvest, mostly manual, is followed by sorting on arrival at the winery. A short cold maceration before fermentation reinforces the aromas of fresh fruit. Half of the cuvée is aged in oak barrels to provide structure and complexity. The other part, aged in vats, brings freshness and fruit. The final assembly bears the signature of our house.
- TASTING NOTESNice red color. Expressive, fresh and crunchy nose of cherry and redcurrant jelly followed by notes of pastry (blueberry tart and marzipan). Very nice attack on the palate, fresh and round, well balanced. Pretty long structure with finely woody and spicy (cumin) aging notes, very well integrated. Magnificent typical example of Pinot Noir which combines complexity and freshness.
