Description
Most whisky lovers have probably never heard of Linkwood. And yet, its malt, both full-bodied and light, is one of the most distinguished in Scotland and is highly prized by blenders. Linkwood belongs to the aristocracy of distilleries, those which produce whiskies able to age for many years and to adapt exceptionally to all types of casks. Built in 1821 but only operating since the 1823 Excise Act, Linkwood has been refurbished, modernised and rebuilt several times. Diageo (then DCL) has owned it since 1932 and it came close to representing Speyside in the Classic Malts series. One of its few official bottlings is a 12 Year Old in the “Flora & Fauna” series.
