You can make basil syrup really easily on your own: combine a cup of water and a cup of sugar in a small saucepan and bring it to a boil over moderate heat. Stir to dissolve the sugar. Afterwards, take the pan from the stove, add 10 large basil leaves and let the syrup cool. You can either use it immediately when it’s cooled down or refrigerate it for up to three weeks.
