Second wine of the prestigious Grand Cru Classé de Graves – Château Malartic – Lagravière – La Réserve de Malartic 2018 offers the expression of a great red wine from Pessac-Léognan in a very beautiful vintage for Bordeaux .

A vintage of climatic contrasts, 2018 was marked by two very different phases. After a wet and warm spring, cryptogamic pressure was strong on the vineyard. It is then in July that the summer sun sets in definitively to shine until the harvest date with ideal climatic conditions enhancing the personality of each grape variety.

On arrival at the cellar, the results are breathtaking: the Merlot and Cabernets have perfect maturity, great aromatic freshness and beautiful tannins.

Fruit of a blend of Merlot (58%), Cabernet Sauvignon (35%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Petit-Verdot (2%), La Réserve de Malartic 2018 rewards all the efforts made by the teams property techniques. The vintage is aged for an average of 15 months in French oak barrels.

When tasting, La Réserve de Malartic 2018 from Château Malartic-Lagravière offers an intense garnet red color with purple reflections. Intensely aromatic, the bouquet offers notes of red fruits and blackcurrant evoking blackberries and redcurrants. Beautiful liquorice and menthol notes appear as well as mineral notes recalling the identity of the Graves terroir. On the palate, the palate presents a fruity and silky structure, evolving with vivacity thanks to a beautiful tension. The mid-palate displays juicy and aromatic fruit while maintaining great freshness and good balance. A very great red wine from Graves in a grandiose vintage.
