was established in 1993 as a joint venture between Pernod Richard and Georgian shareholders. Since July 2011, Marussia Beverages has been the sole owner of the enterprise. GWS produces various wines and a strong Georgian drink – chacha. The two main wine brands of the company are “Tamada” and “Old Tbilisi”, within the framework of the brand “Old Tbilisi” dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet and sparkling wines are produced from various grape varieties. Currently, the company owns 400 hectares of vineyards: 280 of them are given over to red grape varieties, the remaining 120 – to white ones; 70% are traditional Georgian grape varieties, and 30% are world famous varieties. Due to the high quality of products, the company is actively developing and expanding the sales market, distributing its products in the CIS countries, the Baltic States, Japan, China, Germany and others. The production base of GWS provides the possibility of carrying out a full cycle of production. This company was one of the first in Georgia to receive ISO 9001 certificates in 2005 and ISO 22000 in 2008.
